Binder & Binder®

Advocating for IUJAT Members Who Can No Longer Work

All employees of Binder & Binder®, the national Social Security Disability advocates, are members of the USWU, IUJAT.

Because our employees are members of this union, we have a special understanding of the needs of union members who become disabled and can no longer work.  We know that they would prefer to be working, but cannot because of illness or injury.  We also know that obtaining Social Security Disability (SSD) benefits can be a frustrating and complex process.  That’s where we come in.

Many Years of Experience Helping People Obtain Needed Benefits

Our company has been helping people obtain SSD benefits since 1975.  Since that time, we have grown from one tiny office in Patchogue, New York, to a multistate company with offices throughout the United States.  We have helped many thousands of clients, including union members, obtain the disability benefits they need and deserve.

Explaining Your Options After an Illness or Injury

Our advocates make sure that you are aware of all your options when you become unable to work.  For example, if you were injured on the job, you are probably eligible for Workers Compensation in addition to SSD benefits – one does not cancel out the other.  You may have an underlying condition aggravated by your injury that could allow you to receive additional SSD compensation. Or you may have multiple conditions that cumulatively leave you unable to work. Whatever your situation, you can be sure that we will explore all possible sources of compensation.

Better and Nicer – More Than a Marketing Slogan

Binder & Binder® believes in doing things “better and nicer.”  This is more than a marketing slogan – it’s the way we do business.  We listen, and we don’t give up. Equally important, we don’t let our clients give up, either.  If you are a member of the USWU and are no longer able to work because of injury or illness, know that we are here to help you as we have helped so many others.

Everyone Can Afford an Advocate

Many people hesitate to work with an advocate when seeking disability benefits because they believe they cannot afford one.  Binder & Binder® gets paid only when you receive your award.  If we are not successful on your behalf, you owe us nothing.  Your award will include a lump sum payment from the time you became unable to work, sometimes known as retroactive benefits or back benefits.  We get paid from this lump sum, so you don’t have to reduce your current benefit to pay us.
